How we began...
Calvary Bible Institute Japan is an affiliate of Calvary Bible Institute (Main campus in Joshua Springs, California). We have been located in Okinawa Japan for over 20 years. CBI Japan, (formerly CCBC Japan), was founded by Pastor Tommy Ruiz and his wife Joanna as they moved to the island from Corona, California to plant a church and raise the next generation in the Word of God.
CBI Japan resides alongside Calvary Chapel Ginowan to accomplish the will of God in loving the people of the church. Since the beginning of Calvary Chapel Ginowan many locals and international students have attended classes, served in the church, and graduated, moving on to new pastures from CBI Japan's ministry.

Why we exist
It is our heart to disciple our students in Jesus and bring them into a closer relationship with Him. We believe that God has called us to equip the next generation to become servant leaders and able to disciple others.
