How we began...

Calvary Bible Institute Japan is an affiliate of Calvary Bible Institute Joshua Springs  (Yucca Valley, California). Our campus is located in Okinawa, Japan. CBI Japan officially began in Okinawa in Fall 2024 transitioning out of 17 years as CCBC Japan. CBI Japan, formally CCBC Japan, was founded by Pastor Tommy and his wife Joanna as they moved to the island from Corona, California to plant a church and raise the next generation in the Word of God.

CBI Japan resides and comes along side Calvary Chapel Ginowan to accomplish the will of God in loving the people of the church. Since the beginning of Calvary Chapel Ginowan many locals and international students have attended classes, served in the church and graduated to move on to new pastures from CBI Japan's ministry.

Why we exist 

It is our heart to disciple our students in Jesus and bring them into a closer relationship with Him. We believe that God has called us to the equipping of His saints to become servant leaders and disciplers themselves.

​So whether the Lord calls you onto the missions field or to serve at your local church, our purpose is to prepare you for active ministry all over the world. Your time at CBI Japan will be a life-changing experience, as you grow in the Word of God and learn to serve the people of Japan in love.
